Types Of Psychic Readings
Types Of Psychic Readings by Marissa Moonwhisper
When you contact a psychic, you might be overwhelmed by the different types of readings that they offer. Getting a general idea about the basics of each reading will help make your session with a psychic much more enjoyable.
A tarot card reading is one of the most popular types of psychic readings. During a tarot card reading, the psychic will ask you to focus your energy into the cards. The cards that come out and the position that they fall in will both affect your reading. The modern tarot cards that most psychics use is typically composed of twenty-two major arcane cards and fifty-six minor arcane cards.
If you request an astrology reading, the psychic will use your date of birth to let you know the direction that your life is headed in. This type of reading gains its predictions from the placement of the planets and the stars. There are several different types of astrology that an astrologer can use. These types include Chinese astrology, Western astrology and Indian astrology.
Numerology is another type of psychic reading that utilizes birth dates. A psychic will use the numbers related to your date of birth to come up with a number that can be associated to your type of personality. For example, a person with the number seven is controlled by Neptune and has an idealistic type of character.
A palm reading is another popular type of psychic reading. The psychic will be able to look at a client’s palms and tell a lot about their personality. They will use the shape of the hands, the lines on the hands and the person’s fingers to give an accurate reading. The lines on the hand particularly show many aspects of the person’s personality and their future destiny. The life line tells the length of your life, the head line provides insight into your type of personality and the heart line can give clues about your love life. The other lines include the fate line, health line, fame line, money line, marriage line, sex line, spirit line, travel line and luck line. A palm reader can read the special markings on these lines as well as garner meaning from the length and depth of the lines.
Rune readings are an additional service that a psychic may offer. Runes have been around for thousands of years and have been shown to attain mystical characteristics. A rune reading consists of twenty-four runes laid out in a spread. There are different types of spreads including the traditional spread of three that represents the past, present and future. The materials that the runes are made out of affects the reading as well. Ceramic, stone, wood and gold runes are each used to answer different life questions.
An aura reading can also be conducted when you visit a psychic. This type of reading involves the interpretation of the aura that surrounds a person. An aura is a color outline that emanates from the body and varies from person to person. Auras can be different sizes, shapes and colors. A psychic that can read auras can see or sense a person’s aura and give their interpretation of it.
If you are looking for specific advice or insight, you may wish to visit a psychic that only specializes in one or two areas. Some of the readings must be conducted face to face, but most can be distant readings that are done over the telephone or the Internet. Whichever type of psychic reading you choose, you will be amazed at the insightful things that a psychic can tell you about your life.

Crystal Divination: Three Techniques for Insight and Healing
Crystal Divination: Three Techniques for Insight and Healing by Certified Crystal Healer Ashley Dalke
From the Ancient Egyptians, to the Elizabethans, and even modern psychics, crystals have played an enormous role in many divinatory techniques. There are several divination methods in which one can utilize the power of crystals for guidance. Crystallomancy, Lithomancy, and Dowsing are just a few of these powerful divinatory methods.
There are a number of steps to performing a reading using crystals as divinatory tools. These steps may be utilized for any type of crystal divination.
First, one must formulate a general question about a particular issue in which he/she needs guidance. The question should be open-ended (i.e. it should not have a yes or no answer). Then, the diviner must focus on the question at hand. It may help to write the question on a sheet of paper and/or to ask it aloud at least three times.
Next, the diviner must prepare himself or herself for the reading. He or she must select the crystal(s) to be used while focusing on the question at hand. He or she should then clear his or her mind and become attuned to the energy of the crystals.
The, one needs to clear and cleanse all of the crystals that will be used. There are a variety of ways one can clear a crystal. One way to cleanse a crystal is by soaking it in a solution of sea salt and distilled water (lavender oil is also often added to the solution due to its purification properties). Another method involves holding the stone under running water or in a stream to be purified. Yet another method to cleanse a stone is by smudging it. To smudge a stone, one must pass the stone through the smoke of an herb or incense (white sage, juniper, palo santo, sweetgrass, cedar, and sandalwood are all commonly used smudging herbs). Also, one may choose to bury a stone in the soil of the earth for a length of time in order to cleanse it. The clearing process should be carried out until one intuitively feels that the stone has been cleansed, or by feeling the stone's energy. Then, after the reading, the diviner should always cleanse and clear the crystals to remove any energy that may have been transferred during the session. Now, one is ready to begin crystal divination.
Crystallomancy is a form of scrying divination that utilizes crystals (most commonly those shaped into spheres [i.e. crystal balls]).
Gazing into a crystal ball takes patience and practice. One most often needs to form a relationship with his or her crystal ball before any meaningful images appear. One should always treat the crystal ball with respect as it is a powerful divinatory tool. Also, one's crystal ball is a very personal object, so one should not allow others to handle it (or even to view it when it is not necessary). One should safely store the ball in a silk cloth when it is not in use. This will help to keep its energetic vibrations clear and radiant.
It is best not to use the crystal ball if your energy is not clear. If one is not serious about the reading, or if one is in a negative state of mind, he or she should not use his or her crystal ball. One should always intend the reading to be for the highest good of all beings, with the love and light of the universe.
To begin scrying, place your light source (preferably a candle) off to the side (so that the light does not interfere with the image you see when you are scrying) and gaze into your ball. The crystal may begin to go out of focus or become blurry to your eyes as you stare into it, then, after a time, images may begin to appear within the sphere.
Most commonly, one will observe symbolic images, although as one becomes more advanced, the images may become more literal. Symbolic visions should always be interpreted according to one's current life situation.
It is best for one to keep a scrying journal so that he or she is able to track his or her skills as a crystallomancer. It also aids in tracking a more complete interpretation of the images you obtain while gazing. A journal can also be helpful if one is performing readings for others.
If one prefers the art of casting crystals, or lithomancy, then the diviner should follow the same steps for preparation as in crystallomancy. Then, he or she should create a casting area. The casting area is a sacred space that is created by the diviner's intention. Many diviners utilize a cloth to mark the casting area. The cloth should ideally be made of silk and should only be used in this sacred space for the purpose of divination, as it is a ritual object.
He or she should then clear the divining space of negativity. This can be done by creating a ring of sea salt or Himalayan salt around the divining area. Yet another method to cleanse the space is by smudging it. The clearing process should be carried out until one intuitively feels that the space has been cleansed, or by feeling the energy of the space.
After the space has been cleared and the intention has been set to create a sacred space, the diviner may begin to cast the stones. He or she should hold them between the palms of the hands approximately 2-3" above the casting area and then drop them while pondering the question.
After this, the diviner should interpret the pattern created by the position of the crystals. The diviner should disregard any crystals that fall outside of the casting area as these are not relevant to the question at hand. If a crystal is cast into the center of the divining space, its meaning should be integrated with all others as it provides a central theme for the answer to the question asked. Emphasis should be placed on any area in which multiple crystals are cast. If no stones are cast onto the area, the diviner may repeat the cast or may need to reformulate the question.
Next, the diviner should interpret the message. To do this, the diviner should look over the area as a whole and use his or her intuition to interpret the meaning of the way in which the stones were cast. Then, he or she should use the associated properties for each crystal combined with the meaning given for each specific section of the casting area in order to draw a conclusion about the question at hand.
It is best for one to keep a journal so that he or she is able to track his or her skills as a lithomancer. It also aids in tracking a more complete interpretation of the insights you obtain while divining. A journal such as this can also be helpful if one is performing readings for others.
Yet another divinatory method is dowsing, or divining with a pendulum. A pendulum is a tool that one holds between his or her thumb and index finger which consists of any sacred object such as a crystal, a key, or a ring, which is attached to a piece of cord or string. A diviner uses a pendulum to receive precise yes or no answers to his or her proposed questions (although he or she may sometimes receive neutral answers-in which case the question should be reformulated or asked again at another time).
One should used the same preparation techniques as in crystallomancy or lithomancy, but instead of formulating a general question, he or she should articulate a question with a precise "yes" or "no" answer.
Once one has properly prepared, he or she should grip the end of the string, opposite the sacred object, between his or her thumb and index finger of the dominant hand. Then, one should ask (aloud or silently) to be shown his or her "yes" answer and note the manner in which the pendulum swings (i.e. forward and backward, side to side, clockwise, counterclockwise, wildly, slowly, etc.). One should then repeat this asking to be shown his or her "no" answer. One should not move the pendulum intentionally, but let it move according the subtle energy currents of the body.
One should practice divining with the pendulum by asking general questions to which one is not emotionally attached. When one is neutral about the outcome of the divination, he or she will obtain clearer insights as they will not be influenced by one's desires. Once one ha had enough practice and is consistently receiving accurate readings, he or she may then begin to ask more personal questions.
Again, it is suggested that one keep a dowsing journal so as to keep a record of his or her accuracy with this divinatory tool.

Divination Vs Prediction
Divination Vs Prediction by Kephri Ra
Divination has always been one of the most popular and widely practiced of all the occult arts. In a world so full of uncertainty the idea of getting some wise guidance from a higher power, the idea of peeking into the future and gaining advanced knowledge of what will happen, the idea of knowing the consequences of your actions in advance so that you can choose the right path - these are all very appealing notions indeed.
There a literally hundreds of different methods of divination, from examining the entrails of a recently slaughtered sheep or goat, to staring into the flames of a fire. Today, with divination at least as popular as it ever has been in the past, the most commonly used methods are astrology, tarot cards, palmistry and the Chinese I Ching.
But although more people than ever have access to some form of divination, such as newspaper horoscopes which are read by millions, there is also a greater degree of misunderstanding around as to the nature and purpose of divination than would have been the case in the past.
Most people tend to think of divination as fortune-telling, as a method of predicting what will happen to someone in the future. But actually this is an over-simplification, and it introduces a subtle but important error into the way we think about divination. Whether you perform reading yourself, or if you are just an interested person who maybe reads their horoscope, you should know that in order to gain the most possible benefits from consulting a divinatory device it is important to be aware of the nature of the information which you will receive.
The classical warning against the kind of misunderstanding which is prevalent today was given in the form of a story. This story is about a king or emperor (I don't remember the details, only the general outline, but it's that which is the important bit). There was tension with the neighbouring kingdom and the emperor consulted an oracle to help him in a decision about whether or not to declare war and invade his neighbour. The oracle told him that if he went ahead with the war her would crush a great army and lead to the collapse of the kingdom. he took this to mean that he would win a great victory and went ahead with the war, but it turned out that through his own incompetence his actions crushed his own army, and lead to the collapse of his own kingdom.
The significance of this story is that the emperor went to the oracle expecting a prediction but actually got a divination and his misunderstanding lead to his downfall. In this case it was not in the oracle's power to predict the exact outcome of events, or describe what would happen to whom. What she did (what divination always does) was to describe the character and form that events would take. Within this pattern individual people and events are somewhat irrelevant, and cannot be accurately predicted. If you keep this in mind when using divination it will serve you well.
It is also important to remember that whilst divination describes the cosmic, spiritual influence which will come to bear, and the overall character of what you might call the physical and psychological environmental factors, human free will and the inertia of material circumstances may have something else to say. The correct attitude to divination is expressed in the medieval word from divinatory signs - 'auspices'. You may often read in a newspaper horoscope, for example, that you will come into some money or that you will meet a new lover, or some other such thing. But what it should really be saying to be more accurate is that it is an auspicious time to do business, look for a new source of income, or play the lottery, or that now would be a good time to socialise and meet new people. By doing this they would not be trying to predict the future, an endeavour in which they would often fail, but would instead be providing advice as to how to make the most of the situation and how to be successful, happy and perhaps most importantly in harmony with the world around you, which is what divination is all about.

The History of the Runes – Unlocking the Mystery of the Runic Sigils
The History of the Runes – Unlocking the Mystery of the Runic Sigils by Faith Lamb
The history of the Runes is steeped in mystery and secrecy, with many scholars today arguing the case for different origins and purposes. For over two thousand years Runes have held a fascination with people, holding a sense of magic and wonder. For an alphabet to have gained this aura of mystery seems perhaps odd, yet Runic history shows that these symbols were not created purely as an alphabet with which to communicate, but as symbols of the world around them, including the unseen forces.
Legend tells that the history of the Runes begins with Odin, the mighty God of the Norse mythology. It is said that Odin hung from the World Tree, upside down, for nine days and nine nights, after which he died. As he passed on to the realm beyond death he gained knowledge and understanding beyond that of mortals, after which he was reborn. His knowledge was then passed on in the form of Runes.
The very word, ‘Rune’ means ‘shrouded in mystery’ or ‘hidden wisdom’, and so it is unsurprising that much speculation and disagreement exists today as far as some of the origins and deeper meaning of the Runes is concerned. We do know that some of the Runic symbols are very old, found in carvings from the Bronze Age, and it is interesting to note that several of these have survived to current alphabets in very similar forms.
The use of Runes today as a means of divination is not new, since this was one aspect of the Runes which was used widely between one and two thousand years ago. In addition to being used as a means of divination or fortune telling Runes were also used as part of magical rituals and spells. About a thousand years ago the Roman Empire was spreading the use of its own alphabet very widely and successfully, which led to the relative demise of Runes as an alphabet, with their meaning and knowledge handed down the generations in ways which heightened their secrecy and mystery.
But this knowledge and history of the Runes has survived down the ages, and has seen recent revivals which have helped to shed more light on this fascinating alphabet, and on its people. The Runic alphabet is not merely a collection of symbols which may be used in the creation of words or as a means of divination. Many Runic symbols reflect the deep beliefs of the people who created and used them, shedding light on the aspects of the world around them which were of prime importance. If Runic history has taught us anything today, then it is that the people who developed and used this alphabet were deeply connected to the realm of the spirit and to the natural world than we are today.
It is perhaps this undercurrent of mythology entwined with the relationship between Runes and both the natural world and the spiritual realm that has helped encourage their widespread use today. In a world of unseen digital information, wireless transmissions flying above our heads and gigabytes of data at our fingertips should we ask the right questions, we have found ourselves in a world where the unseen powers which bind us together are rooted more and more firmly in our own technology. Yet this can be deeply unsettling, and more and more of us are finding the need to explore a more spiritual dimension, even if that is little more than learning to see aspects of the world through the symbols and language of a people who achieved what today we can only dream of.
The history of Runes, as with our own language, draws together aspects from several paths and cultures, with some symbols being remarkably similar to Italic and Latin scripts, whilst others are entirely unique when compared to letters from any modern language. It is often the case that these unique symbols reflect aspects of the natural or spiritual worlds in ways which we are only recently beginning to piece together.
The Runic alphabet is more often referred to as the Futhark, and this is the more accurate term for the collection of Runic symbols. The word ‘alphabet’ simply derives from the first two letters of our own alphabet – alpha, beta. In the same way, the Futhark is also derived from the first few letters of the Runic sequence of symbols. However, there do appear to be a number of different Futhark variations, and if you are investigating Runic history you will notice that the two main versions are the Elder Futhark and the Younger Futhark.
The Elder Futhark is, and the name suggests, the older version which consists of 24 letters of symbols, although in Medieval Europe, and England in particular, this was extended to 33 symbols. The Younger Futhark, predominantly developed around the 17th century, is a much reduced form, comprising only 16 symbols.
The history of the Runes reveals that, unlike Tarot cards, Runic symbols provide far more than merely a means of divination, but that they hold secrets impenetrable even to today’s scholars, and a mystery which has existed for thousands of years. Whether as a fascinating relic of a culture and language long gone, a symbol of the mystery and magic which has threatened the establishment across half the civilised world in its time, or as a means of divination which harnesses visions of a natural and spiritual realm realised by its creators, Runes today are more popular than at any time in their history.

The Ouija Board - A Metaphysical View
The Ouija Board - A Metaphysical View by H.P. Thomas Moore
Simply saying the name ‘Ouija Board’ brings up a variety of mixed emotions in people. Many have had experiences with this talking board in their juvenile years, and many more refuse to even acknowledge the experiences that they had. In the metaphysical world, a world filled with future psychics and spirit mediums where does the Ouija Board stand?
The Ouija Board, as I have come to understand it is a tool much like any other. The Tarot Cards, Pendulum and Crystal Ball all have their purpose in the metaphysical world, so too does the Ouija Board. Before looking into the metaphysical of this fascinating board, we need to understand where it came from.
In the 1800’s the world saw a rise in the Metaphysical and Spiritual realm. People would gather for Séances and Table Tipping in order to once again contact those that had passed from this life. During the 19th century psychics and mediums alike began to invent different ways to communicate with the dead. Some of these were rather long and tedious like table tipping, while others bean to shape the instrument we know as the talking board. One of the first was an intricate pulley system that held a pendulum. The pendulum would hang over a paper with the letters of the alphabet on it and move in accordance to questions asked by the medium. The pendulum would then point to the letters and spell out its answer. Before long this instrument began to take further shape, and a moving planchette was created in order to hover over the letters of the board.
This form of communication with the dead was one of the clearest yet, and the form of the Ouija Board took shape. In 1892 a man named William Fuld took over a toy and novelty company. Seeing the popularity of the board the mediums were using he decided to create and patent it as a toy, a product that everyone could have access to. Fuld named it the Ouija Board and sold millions of the toys dominating the competition. After Fuld’s death in 1927 the family sold the patent to Parker Brothers, who still hold it and produce this talking board today.
From device to toy the Ouija Board has been around us for years. With its background and superstition it is no wonder why those in the metaphysical world feel strongly about it. The original purpose of the board was to communicate with the dead, and it seems that it has fulfilled its purpose of that even after being packaged as a novelty toy. In fact many people have their first psychic experiences linked to the use of the Ouija Board, though not all of them are pleasant. The metaphysical world sees this talking board as a gateway to communicate with the other side, just like any other tool or ability used within the psychic realm. As they say “With great power, comes great responsibility” and the Ouija Board is not left out of the equation.
One of the things that many psychics speak of when it comes to receiving future oriented information or communicating with the dead is the idea of psychic protections. So what is a psychic protection going to do for you and why is it needed to use the Ouija Board? Before we can understand the use of protections, we need to understand energy. Energy is around us all of the time and is neither positive nor negative. The actions that a person takes with the energy give it a positive or negative charge, forcing the energy to act in a specific way. That being said, it is important to understand that there are spirits that are both positive and negative. The idea of psychic protection is to create a sacred space. This space allows all energy and spirits that are positive to enter and pushes away the spirits and energy that are negative. From a spiritual standpoint this is one of the major faults of the Ouija Board. The board does not come with a protection to use; in fact it doesn’t even mention it. Without the psychic protection, the users are allowing any entity to communicate with them whether it is positive or negative.
If you talk to some of your friends and ask them if they have used a Ouija Board, most of them will tell you the strange and sometimes frightening experiences that they had. It is due to the fact that no protections are used that the negative energies are allowed in. These types of energies ‘feed’ on the emotion of fear and so cause fear in us in order to survive. On the spirit realm a medium or even a person using the Ouija Board look like a bright shining light. The positive spirits see this as a doorway to communicate and possibly re-connect with loved ones and pass along messages, the negative spirits see this as well. Any entity that is positive does not seek out to hurt, harm or scare anyone, they simply seek to communicate and pass along messages to their loved ones. However the problem arises when the negative entities get there first. When you use the Ouija Board, the planchette moves around and spells out the answers to your questions. Often times when a negative energy is attached it will start off by being kind, maybe even telling you the truth. Then it begins to scare you in order to gain energy from your fear based reactions. The psychic protection prevents this from happening, think of it like a bouncer at the door to a club, if your not on the guest list your not getting in…period!
These protections are done in many different ways, from white light to calling forth the Archangels every religion or spiritual path has a protective method with it. Some of the newer talking boards out there do come with a protection. The Psychic Circle for example is a board that in it’s instructions tell you to say a prayer of protection before playing. The metaphysical view on the Ouija Board and talking boards in general is a mixed one. Many feel that the board can be an important tool in connecting with the other side; however it should be done in a way that is spiritually safe for the players.
Next time your at a party or a friends house and they want to play with the Ouija Board or talking board, remember to protect your area. Allow only positive spirits to enter and give their messages and you will surely have a good experience with this psychic tool.

What is Magick Anyway?
What is Magick Anyway? by H.P. Thomas Moore
Being a practicing Wiccan I certainly hear this question often. People are unsure as to what Magick is exactly. Either they think that it is all smoke and mirrors, or that it is some sort of dark art that is not meant to be played with. The fact is that Magick is something that we do often, maybe even without knowing it!
To begin to understand Magick we have to first understand energy. As we know energy is all around us all of the time. Everything that we see, touch, feel, smell, and taste, and hear is made up of energy. It is the guiding force that holds this world together, and yet without our intuitive ability we cannot experience energy on its own. Energy is not only a part of Magick, but it is the force of Magick itself. Before I go further there may be some of you out there that think I am a pretty bad speller. Magick (with a k) is what we are discussing here and has to do with energy, Magic however is the illusion: it is the smoke and mirror that you see in Las Vegas.
So we know that Magick has to do with energy but what exactly does it have to do with it? When you use Magick you are in essence manipulating or changing energy so that you can cause a particular reaction. In other words you are using the power of intention in order to manifest a particular event. Intention is something that we all know about and do, especially nowadays with the introduction of the book “The Secret”. Magick is just that, using intention in order to manifest.
So what do all these spells have to do with anything? I’m glad that you asked! Spells are most commonly used in Wiccan traditions as well as many other Pagan cultures. In a spell you are performing a Magickal ritual or rite in order to aid in that manifestation. Spells you see are very similar to prayer for many other cultures and religions. You concentrate on the intention that you want and ask for the assistance from the energy of the Universe or of the Goddess and God forces. Then you allow the Universe to work on it to aid you in attaining your goal. There is a difference here though. The Universe is not going to do all the work for you of course; you will have to act upon it on the physical level as well. For instance, if someone were doing a spell to find a job but never left the house to go job hunting and just sat in front of the TV waiting, nothing would happen. An employer is not going to come and knock on your door and offer you a position. You have to act on it physically as well in order to get the best manifestation.
So Magick in a nutshell is altering the energy that surrounds you in order to help you attain a specific goal or purpose that you want to occur. Great, now we know what Magick is but we still don’t know how it works. As I said before intention is a big key in Magick and with that come belief. These two together form the most important part of not only Magick but of all things and religions. Without belief, it wouldn’t matter what anything was, it would not have any meaning to it and without intention, you cannot put faith into that belief in order to make it true for you. Belief especially plays a large role here. I have many people that tell me that they preformed a spell or ritual and that it didn’t work for them so all this Magick mumbo-jumbo must be fake. The first thing I ask them is if they believed that it was going to work? Usually after some poking and prodding I get the answer from them and it is a no! If you don’t believe that it is going to work from the very start then there is no need to do the Magick. You are basically negating the energy that you are raising for your purpose as soon as you raise it.
We know from using the power of intention that the stronger you believe a thing is going to happen, especially when adding emotion, thought and visualization to it, it is going to manifest. So when you perform Magick believe that it is going to work, sense it on all levels of your being and use all of your senses to fully experience it as if it has already happened. By doing this you are sure to get a great result in your Magick.
Now you have a basic understanding of the principles and application of Magick as well as the differences that it has with Magic. Go out and perform some spell work and create that intention to bring manifestation!

Basics of Crystal Healing
Basics of Crystal Healing by Certified Crystal Healer Ashley Dalke
Crystal healing is a form of vibrational medicine in which subtle energy given off by a crystal is used to treat the body, the mind, and the spirit. Since crystals emit beneficial energetic vibrations, introducing them into one's energy field can actually help to repair energetic imbalances within the ethereal body. For this reason, crystal healing can be performed on anything that possesses an energy field, be it a person, a plant or animal, or the environment.
Although crystals have been used to treat the body, mind, and spirit, crystal healing is not meant to replace conventional medicine. Instead, it should be used along with allopathic treatments to compliment and enhance them. The most important thing to keep in mind when beginning to use crystals for healing purposes is that a crystal's power is relatively inert until one intentionally directs its energy. It is not the crystal that possesses healing energy; it is one's intent to heal, by way of the crystal, which manifests results.
The art of crystal healing has been present in many eras and cultures, some dating back for thousands of years. It was commonplace in ancient Hebrew and Mayan societies as well as in the Native American, Indian, and Tibetan cultures. Although not yet fully accepted by Western medicine, its methods are still often used and prescribed in many other parts of the world. Since each type of crystal carries with it a unique energetic vibration, certain types of crystals can be utilized in the treatment of specific physical, emotional, or spiritual ailments.
A crystal is a regularly-repeating atomic structure that is formed from building-block-like units of matter. It is also a tool one may use for healing the mind, body, and spirit. Crystals form inside of the earth through heat and pressure which cause its atoms and molecules to follow a blueprint (crystalline encoding). These molecules take on the most stable form possible by repeating until the crystal is fully formed.
The uses of crystals are incredibly varied. Crystals can be used for many types of divination (including ball & bowl scrying and pendulum dowsing). These powerful tools can also be successfully utilized in healing and cleansing of the mind, body, and spirit (of plants, animals, and humans alike). They are terrific aids in healing work done to clear and balance the chakras and subtle bodies. They are also beneficial for the development of the intuition and psychic abilities, astral travel, etc. Crystals also provide protection from all types of negative energies including psychic attack. Through people, crystals are able to promote personal and planetary ascension to raise the universal consciousness. They are some of the most inspiring tools of light known to man.
Crystals can be chosen in two different ways. Sometimes, one may have a specific reason for choosing a stone, in which case he or she can choose the stone based on its known properties. To use this method of selection, one should research the physical or emotional problem he or she is experiencing and then choose a corresponding stone. One may also, however, intuitively choose stones by selecting one or a few out of a bag at random (or by laying them out and selecting whichever he or she is most drawn to). Then, one should attempt to connect with the stone and feel its energy (to discover the primary uses of the stone. If one would like to check his or her intuitive insights against information included in publications of the stone's known properties, he or she can read about that stone's associated characteristics (which are typically useful for his or her situation) in books or on the internet.
AGATE, BLUE LACE: Use at the 5th Chakra (Throat Chakra) for encouraging peace and calming, to promote speaking one's truth, in the garden to enhance crop production and for general plant health, to encourage joy, to become grounded, to stay centered and balanced in mind, body, and spirit, to stimulate will power, to heal problems associated with the nervous system or circulation, & to block out negative energies associated with geopathic stress.
AMAZONITE: (Also known as Amazon Stone) Use at the 4th Chakra (Heart Chakra) or at the 5th Chakra (Throat Chakra) for blocking electromagnetic energy, for balancing the mind, body, and spirit, for soothing and comfort after trauma, to manifest the love of the universe, to overcome fears, to stimulate positive communication, to benefit bone health, and to relax muscles.
AMETHYST: Use at the 6th Chakra (3rd Eye Chakra/Brow Chakra) or at the 7th Chakra (Crown Chakra) for protection against negative energies, blocking geopathic stresses, to relieve insomnia, to enhance memory, to increase motivation, to promote dreams and their interpretation, for emotional balance, to become open to one's intuition and psychic abilities, to strengthen the metabolism and immune system, to enhance meditation, to ease headaches, and to heal and cleanse the mind, body, and spirit.
AMETRINE: This stone is a combination of Amethyst and Citrine found in the same stone due to uneven heating during the crystal's formation. Therefore, it embodies the properties of both stones. Once one has selected one's crystals, he or she should cleanse them. This should be done before using them. One should then charge the crystal in sunlight or moonlight (preferably that of a full or a new moon) for at least one full day or night.
To awaken the elemental (the spirit or deva within the crystal) of a crystal, one should dedicate the crystal with love and light for the good of all beings in the universe. Then, one should graciously receive the magnificent gift of energy given off by the crystal.
To dedicate a crystal, one must first clearly determine the purpose or intention of his or her program or dedication with love and light for the good of all beings. Then, one should place the crystal at the 6th chakra/3rd eye chakra/Brow chakra or hold it in one's hands. Next, he or she should vividly imagine the positive and successful outcome of the intention/program/dedication (using sensory cues & vivid imagery). One should visualize the result of the program in as much detail as possible. This information should be transmitted into the crystalline structure via thought intention to be stored and recorded there for the good of all beings. The program should be repeated whenever one intuitively feels that it is again necessary (and as often as he or she likes).

Once one has selected one's crystals, he or she should cleanse them. This should be done before using them.
